Purpose
“O yehia, move with the scripture with strength”
Surah Maryam: 19:12
I love how God told Prophet Yahya (John the Baptist) to hold and honor the Torah, the Holy Book, with strength. The intensity of this command is reinforced through the word ‘quwwa’, meaning strength or power. Just as God revealed his purpose and urged him to pursue it with vigor, we too are called to move with our calling with strength.
To honor a calling is to let it become your inner world, deeply embedded in the heart. When it takes firm root within you, it naturally flows outward with strength, because you are convinced and inspired by what you are meant to do.
We live in a pandemic of distractions, pulling us away from what truly matters. It is time to honor your purpose and begin with intention. Science shows that when we make a firm decision, the brain’s Default Mode Network, linked to self-doubt and the inner critic, can grow louder, pulling us toward old patterns. This is the mind resisting change.
The word for mind in Arabic, ‘aql’, comes from a root meaning to bind or restrain, while the soul is expansive. Allow balance: let the soul fuel courage, and let the mind plan the steps.
Remember the signs. Feel the conversation with God. Hold firmness. People and circumstances may resist you, but keep your gaze on your purpose. Protect it, carry it, and walk as if God placed it in your hands.
“Let today be the day you learn the grace of letting go and the power of moving on.”
Steve Maraboli
Reflect on what you are working on, or what you would like to work on.
Close your eyes and imagine moving with pure power.
Create a clear, bulletproof plan to move forward. Step away from your inner critic and from anything holding you back. Align yourself with God, and you will move with a mystical flow.
Your purpose is a gift, honor it, take it seriously, and nurture it with every heartbeat.
“When you are not using your life, your time, your energy, for your highest and best use, and something in the back of the brain is going, Ding, ding, ding ding! – you’re missing it. You’re missing your life, your purpose, your passion, your excitement, your enthusiasm. I want to shake you, and rattle you, and stir you up to understand that every moment is a gift. Every thought is a gift. Every idea is a gift.”

“So this, I believe, is the central question upon which all creative living hinges: Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you?”

“As Rick Warren explains in his book The Purpose-Driven Life, “The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It’s far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose.”God did not make you to be empty. Walk with and in the purpose He has planned for you. Prayer: Father God, lift me out of a life of emptiness. You didn’t make me to be there, and that’s not where I will remain. With Your Spirit and power I will rise above this phase of emptiness and live an abundant life. Thank You for giving me a gentle whisper. Amen.”
