Divine Reliance
“To God belongs the future of the heavens and the earth, and to Him all authority goes back. So worship Him, and rely on Him. Your Lord is never unaware of what you do.”
Surah Hud 11:123
We journey through life believing we must face everything alone, bear the burdens, and solve each problem. Yet, this weight was never meant for us to carry by ourselves. This verse urges reliance on God, the very essence of faith.
Connecting with our Creator, and trusting that something beyond us intervenes in miraculous ways brings profound relief. It doesn’t diminish the importance of our actions. Instead, it allows the Divine to work through us, revealing daily miracles often unseen by human eyes. To surrender is to step back, even challenging our own thoughts or what we believe “should” be done.
The verse reminds us that God holds ultimate knowledge of the seen and unseen, of the heavens and the Earth, so vast and grand. Isn’t that worth surrendering to? Our minds, though powerful, are so small in comparison to the truth. To expand our perspective, we must open ourselves to access deeper wisdom from the Creator and allow it to be poured into our heart then outwards through our actions.
Surrendering to God dissolves obstacles, transforming them into a flowing river of endless potential.
“The ocean takes care of each wave ’til it gets to shore
You are given more help than you know.”
Rumi
Acknowledge & Release – Think of a situation where you feel uncertain or burdened. What fears or expectations are weighing on you?
Engage Your Mind – Close your eyes and observe your thoughts. What fears, doubts, or expectations are coming up?
Heart-Centered Surrender – Take a deep breath and visualize handing your burden over to the Divine. Imagine releasing it into a flowing river. Whisper a surrendering phrase such as: “God, I trust in Your plan. Guide me.” Feel the shift from control to trust, from tension to relief.
Throughout your day, each time a worry arises, pause and affirm: “This belongs to God. I release it.”.
“How do you know your Spirit drifts upward? You know the same way you know that you’re breathing, the same way you know that your heart beats, and the same way you know that you have thoughts. You’re in there and you directly experience it.
What does it mean to drift upward? It’s an experience of being drawn further back inside yourself. You’re no longer held down to your earthly self, so you begin to feel more spaciousness inside. You feel that there’s more of a distance between you and the thoughts and emotions inside of you. You drift back, and then in and up.”

“Then you will see from the horizon of Divine Reason the sun of inner knowledge rising. It is your private sun, for you are the one whom Allah guides and are on the right path and not the one He leaves in error. And you will understand the secret that
It is not given to the sun to catch up with the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day. Each swims along in (its appointed) orbit.” Surah Ya-Sin.”
