Day 89:

A New Growth Everyday

كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ

“Every day He is in a new state of glory.”

Surah Ar-Rahman 55:29

Coaching Insight

This beautiful verse explains that the word ‘Huwwa’, meaning ‘He’ in Arabic, refers to God who is in a new state every day. If we look closely at what a day entails, we realize that every hour, minute, even every millisecond, He is in a state of creation, growth, love, and expansion.

If we only divert our attention to what is happening right now, we see that the planets are orbiting, flowers are blossoming, seeds are sprouting beneath the soil, the sun is rising, and new creatures are being born every second. This endless symphony of creation never pauses. As the verse mentions, ‘Huwwa’ is not a human, a human can rest, but the Divine is always at work.

Inspired by this verse, we can understand that there is a greater force always acting in loving motion, whether we are ‘doing’ or not. Sometimes our egos lead us to believe that everything depends on our own efforts. Yet, even as we rest, the intentions we have placed into the world continue to move beyond us, out into the universe, manifesting through the power of God.

This does not mean we should sit back and do nothing. Rather, it reminds us of our human limitations and to trust that this constant flow of Divine energy, growth, and expansion is always happening with or without our striving. We can align ourselves with the movement already taking place within us through Him: our breath, our heartbeat, and every cell in a constant state of renewal.

“He’ is called ‘the Sleepless One’ because if he falls asleep, the world will collapse.”

Daily Practice

Dedicate some time today to rest. Simply be.

Notice how, even while you are at rest, every function in your body is at work, every cell, every organ, your heartbeat.

Contemplate how everything in the universe is also in motion and in a state of creation: seeds blossoming, planets moving.

Allow your mind to wander to how the Divine is constantly creating, even as you rest.

Book Reference

He is the Loving Symphony,

playing through every heartbeat of creation.

The subtle violins of dawn,

the deep drums of thunder.

 Seeds awaken in His rhythm,

sprouting from the secret of His love.

Invisible hands are always at work,

His vision becoming form.

Movement is constant

it is the dance of creation

a death with every stillness,

a birth with every breath.

“Resting is one of the most impactful practices we can adopt for self-compassion, emotional well-being, collective care, and environmental repair. When we take a few moments each day to pause, to feel our exhales, to listen to the sounds that are present, or to notice the way light bends around a corner, we are engaging in a subversive act of reclaiming the innate wisdom within our bodies and within the natural world: the wisdom of rest.”
