Day 2:

New Beginnings

Verse End

“In the Name of Allah – the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. All praise is for Allah – Lord of all worlds”

Surah Al-Fatiha 1:1,2

Coaching Insight

The first Ayah of the Quran begins with “Bismillahi AlRahman AlRaheem”, ‘In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful’. It is an actual verse rather than blessed holy words that are placed before any surah begins. The second Ayah is “Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen”, expressing gratitude to God.

The power here is immense. Imagine if every beginning in our lives starts in the name of God, and after every act we say “Alhamdu lillaah” (Thank you God). This creates an immediate energetic connection to the Divine and also creates a blessed cocoon wrapping everything we do, whether it is as simple as eating a meal or working on a plan for your dream project. We begin with power and love and end in gratitude.

Moreover, the verse contains the Divine names; The Most Compassionate and The Most Merciful. Every time you say it, you bring forth God’s compassion to what you’re doing, and it also brings compassion to yourself through embodying God’s characteristics.

Daily Practice

Starting today, before everything you do try to say بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم “Bismillahi AlRahman AlRaheem” and end it with الحمد لله رب العالمين (Alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen), expressing gratitude to God.

Infuse your actions with energy and the sense of Divine presence and embrace the Holy blessed space in between.

There’s a secret power in these simple, Holy words that can bring significant changes to our lives. By doing this, you will be bringing power and compassion into everything you do.

Book Reference

“Sufi mystics say the secret of the Qur’an lies in the verse Al-Fatiha,

And the secret of Al-Fatiha lies in Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

And the quintessence of Bismillah is the letter ba ب,

And there is a dot below that letter.…

The dot underneath the B embodies the entire universe.…”

The Forty Rules of Love – Elif Shafak

“God’s mercy is greater than your sins or circumstances. His compassionate love embraces the cactus parts of you that you swear no one could hug. His grace celebrates the parts of you that nobody claps for. God loved you before you were even created, before you even knew of Him.”
