Night of Power & Abundance
“Indeed, ˹it is˺ We ˹Who˺ sent this ˹Quran˺ down on the Night of Glory.
And what will make you realize what the Night of Glory is?
The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months.”
Surah Al-Qadr 97:1,2,3
This is the Holy night when the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), a night filled with light, high vibration and divine presence. It is described as better than a thousand months; more than eighty-three years of worship, yet in spirituality, time is relative and cannot be measured in the way we understand it.
Hidden within Ramadan lies a sacred secret.
According to the scholar Ibn Kathir, and as mentioned in the book ‘Ramadan’ compiled by Amina Adel, all divine revelations descended in this blessed month, The Tawrah of Musa, the Zabur of Dawud, the Injil (Gospel), and the pages of revelation given to Ibrahim. Each scripture carried light for its time.
‘Laylat al-Qadr’, (the Night of Power) marks the moment when the Quran first touched the Prophet’s heart, a moment when divine light was emitted out into the world.
Feel this light within your heart, and reflect on this story and ask yourself: what light or guidance may I be receiving during this night, or during the entire sacred month of Ramadan?
Try to spend this night in remembrance and quiet surrender. ‘Laylat al-Qadr’ is hidden among the last ten nights of Ramadan, believed to fall on one of the odd nights. Some describe it as a clear and tranquil night. Others feel it within their hearts, a sense of grace that words cannot contain.
“Truly the angels on this night ‘Laylat al-Qadr’ are as numerous as the pebbles upon the earth”
Prophet Muhamed (PBUH)
Set clear intentions for how you will spend ‘Laylat al-Qadr’ (the Night of Power).
Remember the uniqueness of‘ Laylat al-Qadr’– one single night in the entire year, a precious divine gift.
Hold awareness in your heart that you are standing in prayer alongside millions of souls. Feel the unity.
Write down the prayers, hopes, and wishes you wish to ask for, knowing that nothing is impossible with God.
Reflect on Angel Gabriel’s visit to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and its divine purpose.
Ask yourself:
– What messages might God be placing in my heart?
– Is there a calling, guidance, or direction pulling you forward?
“And what shall teach thee what is the Night of Power?
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months…”
“He has given this precious night to the nation of Muhammad ﷺ and granted it to them as a gift. But which night is this sacred night? Generally it is assumed to be the twenty-seventh night of Ramadān, because this is the night when the revelation of the Holy Qur’ãn began, but it is not known for sure. It could be any odd night of the month, the first, the third, the seventh, and so on, but with greater probability it is one of the last odd-numbered nights of the month. Allah Almighty has kept this knowledge from us, He has hidden this sacred night within the month of Ramadān so that every day of the month might be honoured.
In the same way He has hidden His holiest Name in the Holy Qur’án, for if this Name were known, no one would ask for any more than this. In this way, however, if someone has read the whole of the Qur’än, he will also have read Allah’s holiest Name. Likewise, He has hidden His saints and chosen ones among the crowd of common people, so that each one of His servants might be given honour and nobody be despised, for it is impossible to know whether the least likely one might in reality be one of the saints.
During this Night of Power, Allah Almighty commands His great archangels Jibril, Mikä’il and Israfil (عليهم السلام) to make ready. Each of these angels then assembles a host of seventy thousand angels, each of whom commands another host of seventy thousand angels.”
